About
Cybersecurity, made simple
We build security that fits around what people already have: Prompt Firewall for the AI a business runs on, and heySec Home for the home they come back to. No research project. No expensive hardware. No second vendor.
Why we exist
Good security, without a security team
Most security tools assume someone is there to run them: a specialist, a budget, time to learn. Most businesses and homes have none of these. heySec is built for them.
We started in 2023, checking websites for weaknesses. The products have evolved since. The idea has not.
Principles
What guides us
01
Cybersecurity, made simple
Security tools shouldn’t require a year of ramp-up. One API call. One binary. One bill. The hard engineering sits behind the interface, not in your deployment guide.
02
Predictable beats lucky
Security decisions deserve explanations. Same content in, same answer out, every time. Every block comes with a clear reason. No black boxes.
03
Privacy built in, not bolted on
Prompt Firewall redacts personal data from its logs before they are stored. heySec Home analyses sound on the device and sends a recording only when it sets off an alert while armed. Spy Check keeps everything from your phone on your Mac.
04
Do the work, then talk about it
We’d rather ship a detection that catches a new injection technique than a press release about it.
Made in Estonia
From Tallinn, where security is part of everyday life
heySec is an Estonian company, run by Kempu OÜ in Tallinn. Estonia put its state online early, and learned early what it takes to defend it.

- 1996 Schools go online with the Tiger Leap programme.
- 2005 Estonia becomes the first country to use internet voting in elections with binding results.
- 2007 Weeks of cyberattacks hit the government, banks and media: what CERT-EE calls the world’s first coordinated cyber campaign.
- 2008 NATO’s Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence is founded in Tallinn.
- 2011 Volunteer specialists join the Defence League’s new Cyber Unit.
- 2014 Estonia becomes the first country to offer e-Residency.
- 2017 The state agrees to keep a copy of its data in a data embassy in Luxembourg.
Tallinn is also home to eu-LISA, the EU agency that runs the Union’s large-scale IT systems, and to RIA, the state authority whose CERT-EE has handled the country’s security incidents since 2006.
That is the culture heySec comes from: security treated as everyday infrastructure, and made simple enough for everyone.
Team
Built by security and systems engineers
Application security, low-latency systems, compiler engineering, applied NLP. We’ve shipped infrastructure for regulated buyers, and now build security for businesses and homes alike.
We’re a small, focused team based across the EU. heySec is fully EU-owned and operated. Your data is subject to EU law and nothing else.
